M&A UniCredit vs ING Europe
Hello Monkeys,
I have received two offers in Germany. One is UniCredit MA in Munich, the other is ING MA in Frankfurt.
I saw ING ranked way higher than UniCredit last year in league table (amount). However I heard UniCredit does much more deals than ING in Germany.
My goal is to find the next one internship in London ideally in EB. Any advices on which one I should pick will be so much appreciated. Many thanks!

In summary, if you prioritize deal flow and hands-on experience, UniCredit in Munich might be the better choice. However, if you value the higher league table ranking and the potential networking opportunities in Frankfurt, ING could be more advantageous. Consider your long-term goals and which firm aligns better with your career aspirations.

Get ING and move to their London office for full time and you can go anywhere tbh
No longer at ING but would recommend their graduate programme if that’s the offer. Good flexibility across 3x 3-4 month rotations and unless it’s changed, you choose essentially any other office globally for one of them.
Retention is far lower than it used to be after 3-4 years as the pay and promotion opportunities are below street.
The bank isn’t well known for its M&A except being “No.1 in the Benelux”, but not under the impression that it holds any more weight than similarly niche claims by Santander, Unicredit etc. You should be aware that deal flow mainly comes from lending clients and that they still work pretty long hours.
However, there’s been some great exits at the analyst/associate level, so could be a decent platform for a few years building some transaction experience. Suggest you reach out to one of the juniors in the team for a chat.
Apologies think you were talking about an internship offer. Should help you get a look from EBs as long as its supplemented by other demonstrated interest/experience.
