Macquarie Bonus 2016

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what Macquarie bonuses were for 2016 at analyst level for in London / NY? Figures were released on Friday 6 May. Despite the bank had good results this year, they apparently reduced the bonus pool last minute.

It was a good year for the bank, but not a good year for their IB division.

"vladdbrueg"Actually MacCap had a +10% in revenues and +5% net profits Yoy, so pretty good

FX to the rescue. A large part of the as-reported growth is due to weakening Australian dollar vs FY15.

Heard from close friend that it was roughly in line with BB's - lower than some, higher than a few others. Pretty sure it was lower than EBs. Most were fairly pleased given Macquarie's previous bonus history. Year end numbers for Macquarie were definitely strong - IBD did okay although majority of overall growth came from other businesses like Asset Management/funds.

Don't know much about the bonus pool being cut, but if so, imagine it was offset by the layoffs made beforehand.

Slight difference from other banks is that even partial-year Analyst (started last summer) bonus stubs were bucketed - I suppose that bonuses coming later means that they had a longer time frame to evaluate new hires.
