Macquarie / MacCap NY

I’m interested to hear some insights or opinions on the bank. Seems like they’re tight knit and I’m interested how they’re perceived in the US relative to the bulges in infra/renewable/energy.

compete with, and beat out, most other banks in infra. anything else, your best bet is looking elsewhere. seem to be downsizing their investment bank besides infra/energy advisory, where they consistently get top mandates. cool new building on 5th avenue coming soon

They get mandates from MIRA. Which is a Macquarie company.

not a top shop and do not place well.

MacCap infra is one of the best on the street, a lot of exits into MF PE. Good in some other niches too like CGL and A&D.

Work at Macquarie Asset Management in NYC on a more strategic team

Macquarie is a pretty unique company, very global with lots of opportunities to work with people and projects around the world. Know even the all powerful infra teams have struggled a bit in the current market environment and competitors have started to rapidly grow their own infra funds (Brookfield, BX, KKR, etc.)

There was a decent sized layoff recently that affected people across levels (MD down to analyst) and across investment, operations and other teams.

Overall decent firm to work for and a good culture, but not sure if tailwinds are in the right direction
