Macquarie PE or Evercore M&A for summer?
This is for next summer trying to decide what to do. I think I would like to stay in private equity, but not sure what industry. Thanks.

Career Resources
I would take EVR
Why do you say that?
Macquarie PE business is heavily skewed towards infrastructure. One of the most active in the field and probably where you'll spend the most time doing.
Skillset is different from traditional PE, so if you're not sure about specialising in this field, take Evercore. Set up you to exit well into other PE down the line.
If you're into traditional PE, like a previous poster has mentioned, then take Evercore. Mac PE is hugely real assets / infrastructure focused.
Evercore on the CV would look good for PE recruiting anyway, and you'd get to confirm whether or not going straight into PE (as opposed to spending a few years in IB) is the right move for you, with a greater degree of certainty.
Well done on getting both offers.
Do you already have the Macqaurie offer?
Bump
If you're interested in real assets / infra/ energy as a long-term play, the Macquarie PE job will be a lot more interesting and satisfying.
If you think generalist PE/non-real assets related career is what you want, EVR will set you up better for whatever your long-term play ends up being.
