Madrid Compensation
So I wanted to see if we could create a list of starting salaries at Madrid for Investment Banking and Consulting.
This can be helpful for prospective students and there was a Spanish forum that used to do it, but not anymore.
Most information is word of mouth, if you have any inputs please feel free to help.

Analyst 1
Consulting:
MBB: 38 Fixed + 5 Bonus
Big 4: 35 Fixed + Bonus
Oliver Wyman: 43 Fixed + 8 Bonus
Roland Berger: 45 Fixed + Bonus
M&A:
BB: 75 - 85 fixed + Bonus
EB: 70 - 80 fixed + bonus
Santander: 55 fixed + bonus
AZ: 55 fixed + bonus
Alantra: 45 fixed + bonus
*Fixed
Monitor Deloitte pays 35k+bonus so I guess the other Big4 would pay the same for strategy consulting
Thanks!
BB 160???? That would be assuming 100% or 100%+ bonus. What leads you to believe that?
It’s supposed to be the Analyst 1 2021 salary of JP Morgan Madrid. I also find it a bit off but I kind of trust the source of it
Maybe bonus in 2021 was 100% considering base was a lot lower back then and that's where this "figure" comes from but 160 all-in seems highly unlikely to me. I'm spanish and I've never heard these figures at BBs local offices
Are MBB analyst 1 really only making 45k?? Also what is estimated bonus for EB is Madrid?
Yes, MBB numbers are actually confirmed. I don’t know the bonus sorry
That’s like no-name boutique numbers in LDN.
Really surprised at that.
BB is 75k-85k (85 being BofA only). Bonus 50-100%, so only on an exceptional year will they top 160
Some EBs pay BB salaries so I would increase the range to 80
BB 160k sounds a lot, even if it's pre-tax.
Thank you all for the info! Will edit with your inputs
Wait 150k for an An1 in Madrid? You ball out with that money.
Probably closer to 120k
How confident you are that AZ and Alantra's salaries are these ones? How about Arcano?
Alantra is a guess because it was paying below the street but updated their salaries last year to stop turnovers. I would probably assume a margin of error of 10% for both Alantra and AZ.
If anyone has updated info, would be happy to update the post.
BB base is correct, but bonuses are no where near 100% of base
I would say for AN1 they would be between 30-50% of base
Source: I work at a BB in Madrid
Thanks for the info!
Sabes si es cierto que hay mucho spread entre BBs o pagan uniformemente en este rango?
Alguien sabe más para Aso/VP? Muchas gracias por adelante.
Is this in euros? +100k will take you a long way in Madrid
