Career Resources
This is a good start.
Come locked and loaded. Every interview (informational or formal) is a screen. Master your story and come prepared with a few questions about GS and the program. Although dependent on the position, recruiters tend to shy away from asking technicals.
They may be doing the internal employee a favor, but never the less this is an opportunity to have your name plucked onto a narrower list of candidates.
Very good start! Good Luck! Happen to my friend at MS. Zero finance experience/no internships and was on the trading desk within a week of the internship.
I appreciate the info. I have a science/engineering degree- anything else in particular I should be prepared for besides why IB instead of research/med/etc?
Why GS?
What / why specific coverage group?
Your internships / school. Etc.
This is a standard HR "sanity check". All they will want to do is make sure that you are normal and can express yourself. I would still prepare as if it were a full-blown interview, but chances are the hardest question that you will get will be along the lines of "Why do you want switch banks?" Good luck.
