Making the best of university
Hey guys, currently a freshman at a decent university in Canada with plans to transfer to a target for junior year. Other than keeping a high GPA, what are the best things to do to get the most out of university in preparation for investment banking and just life in general? I've been in uni for a few months, kept my grades up and partied but i still feel like i'm missing something.
I could hint at what's missing but that wouldn't be appropriate. Also things that will prep you for IB and things that will prep you for life are probably 2 very different sets of things
go hit the gym
Already hit the gym 4 times a week.
Join the finance club, network with professionals, and try to take an officer/leadership position in (any) club. These things will improve your chances at finding a suitable career and you will make some good friends/connections. Enjoy these four years - you don't get them back. You should be having a blast.
Have fun.
Did any of you guys join fraternities in college? We don't have too much of a greek life in canada but still a handful of frats
I didn't and it's one of my college regrets
