Making up own GPA section

I am a business major with a concentration in finance. Thus far I've only taken one finance class so it would mean nothing to list my concentration gpa. The problem with listing my major GPA is that its pretty much the same as my real GPA (i.e. not better) but also includes a lot of classes (Business Ethics, Business Information Systems, Business Law) that just aren't all that relevant to finance. If I were to list my Econ+Accounting+Finance GPA in lieu of my Major GPA would that be acceptable for IB recruiting? I've taken 10 business classes so far but only 5 Econ/Accounting/Finance classes.

So you are just gonna make up a GPA? Might as well put 10, then justify your response by saying you are a man dime.

I would think this would hurt you more than it would help you. Certainly it would raise some red flags as it doesn't really look like you're culling out relevant courses so much as it looks like you're just trying to manipulate numbers.

How much of a difference are you talking about between this made up GPA and your real GPA/major GPA?

I think it's a bit obvious what you are trying to do here...

^ I agree. OP, if you like finance and you can make good grades in it, make it your major.
