Marcus Halberstram's post

This post from marcus halberstram:

"Don't listen to these pretentious pricks. Do yourself a favor and quit today. Just walk out and dont come back. Run a hot bath, light some candles, and slit your wrists while listening to Duran Duran Come Undone... and know you will never again have to spread comps as you slip into a peaceful sleep."

was in response to a question along the lines of this:

"Hey guys,

I'm a first year in a MM firm. I've been with the firm for 6 months and I feel like I'm not getting my share of the deal because there is NO work to do (besides recycled pitches-change the logos and update comps). I seriously spend all day browsing the web and hoping that there will be some books to bind.

Basically, I'm not learning much at all and not getting ANY experience to talk about. I also jump at any deals or pitches when staffers ask for volunteers.

I don't want to regret quitting, I mean it was hard as hell to get the job in the first place, but I wasnt in it for just the $$ and feel like I'm totally wasting my time.

I still haven't talked to my bankers about it, but they're not ones to hold back work, if there was any...

What to do..."

any ideas on what marcus is talking about? does it make any sense? am i jerk for posting it on here? probably, but i'm just wondering what it means that's all

The name, Marcus Halberstram, is a fictional character from "American Psycho," a book by Brett Easton Ellis, that was later turned into a movie. I highly suggest the book and movie (although possible not in that order so you hear\see Christian Bale's chilling\hilarious depiction as you read).

Its kind of from the godfather II

Tom Hagen: When a plot against the Emperor failed... the plotters were always given a chance... to let their families keep their fortunes. Right?

Frank Pentangeli: Yeah, but only the rich guys, Tom. The little guys got knocked off and all their estates went to the Emperors. Unless they went home and killed themselves, then nothing happened. And the families... the families were taken care of.

Tom Hagen: That was a good break. A nice deal.

Frank Pentangeli: Yeah... They went home... and sat in a hot bath... opened up their veins... and bled to death... and sometimes they had a little party before they did it.

So what do you do? -I work for an investment banking firm. Oh okay; you are like my brother, he works for Edward Jones. -No, a college degree is required in my profession

Reality hits you hard, bro...

I can't believe how much Marcus got under the skin of qonnect.me - he just won't let this die. They went back and forth like 10 times on a previous post, and now qonnect.me is actually posting the original comment! I know Marcus was criticizing your company, but wow - let it go!

I wonder how qonnect would react to either B2 or Mark Klein M.D.

..whatever happened to those guys if i recall, they offended ppl just as much marcus has offended qonnect.

im going to encourage marcus to douche up whatever thread qonnect comments on
