just shoot him/her a short email saying that you understand the busy schedule and give a list of times that it would be suitable to call you in the near future.

MD's are busy people and as a college student, you are on the bottom of their list of priorities. One VP has done this to me numerous times it's something you just have to deal with.

good luck.

same thing happened to me twice.

ask the md if it would be okay to schedule a short call with his secretary so its actually on his schedule.

the other time it went on for about 3 weeks (left about 3 voicemails and 3 emails). He was really nice, but i felt like i was annoying the crap out of him, but he didn't mind. MDs are really busy, but if he offered to talk i am sure he wont mind that you follow up every so often. eventually you will get him.

best
