MD's
I understand that wall street bankers and traders etc make most of their money in bonus, but I was wondering what is the BASE salary of an MD? Is this base salary the same for MDs in all divisions?
People were throwing around 250-300.

I work closely with 3 MD's which tenure in banking, range 10-18 years) and having the MD title range (2-8 years) make a base between 200-350. It is all bonus.
That's really low....as far as base salary goes. Senior associates at biglaw are making 310 base.....though I understand biglaw senior associates make nowhere near the bonus that MDs make.

yes, for bankers it's all bonus. totally different comp structure from law.
Big law? totally different comp structure, and their pay is totally insignificant compared with banking. there's no basis for comparison.
Yup, totally different....in law it's 75/25 salary/bonus, in IB it's the other way around.

Whatever....15/85 or 5/95 or whatever the ratio may be.

big law guys may get 310 base but VERY few aside from the superstar dudes at Cravath or Wachtell are going to be getting bonuses of $2-3 million.
