Miami University (OH) Investment Banking Chances?

Hello, I was just accepted my offer of admission from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I know that I want to pursue a career in Investment Banking. Is it possible to land a job on Wall Street or a major Chicago firm coming out of this school? (assuming 3.5+ GPA and solid extracurriculars). What steps should I take to give myself the best possible chance at a Bulge or Boutique bracket firm. Should I consider transferring to a target school such as Cornell after my freshmen year? Would appreciate all thoughts and insight on Miami (OH) in the investment banking realm.

You've got a solid shot, but you're going to need to be top of your class. They're a semi-target, there are less seats reserved for you right away at most banks, but you can get your foot in the door with some extra effort. Start networking right now. Join the IB Club and be an outstanding member.

I’m a grad, not in IB but can confirm you absolutely can make it. Join the IB club. Get at least 3.6+ GPA majoring in finance, maybe double with accounting, do lots of case competitions, and network hard. I know a handful for people who’ve ended up at BAML or JPM. Key and Fifth Third are popular too. I really think any bank/ group is within reach, just have to work hard and execute.
