Missed Sydney IB internships - logistics of UK instead?

Hi all,

I missed the Sydney IB summer internship cycle as I applied too late and did not understand rolling applications. For context, I am doing a BComm at USYD with a distinction WAM, have one prior IB internship, and currently work part time in sales and trading.

I am a UK citizen and have always imagined London as my long term base. I feel I might have a better chance there with more seats available, access to Trackr, and knowing now to apply early. My plan is to apply this round, do the online tests and video interviews from Sydney, and if I make it to superdays or assessment centres, fly over in December or January. I would return for semester in February, and if successful the internship would run July to August which matches Sydney uni holidays.

I would like to think I have a decent chance of reaching at least a few finals if I apply properly this time. If not, I simply do not fly over so in my mind it is essentially risk free. I know it is a bit out there, but I am determined to make this career happen. Keen to hear how realistic this path is, both logistically and from a recruitment perspective.

Thanks!
