Misspelled name in cover letter
I'm a student and I just submitted an application to a bank for a one day program. It’s like a workshop/ insight day. Anyways, I submitted an optional cover letter as part of the application, and realized post-submitting that I misspelled one of the last names of the bankers I mentioned. How big of a deal is this?
Wouldn’t overthink it, what’s done is done, and if they are rejecting you for just a typo then not sure one should want to work there anyway. In my experience cover letters aren’t typically read and if they are rarely by someone senior (eg my guess is the person you addressed it to is not going to see it). If a minor typo should be fine as typically evaluations made holistically, or at least should be. Stuff I have seen result in submissions tossed the side are wrong bank names, something glaring or where clear zero effort made.
Wouldn’t lose sleep over it and good luck.
