Modeling Help...(Please)

I am looking to make a move to IB, and I am currently interviewing for analyst roles...

I do not have any modeling experience, and from reading, I know that I could and probably will be asked to do some sort of problem in a later stage interview.

My question is....where can I get a look at some basic modeling? Is there a book, a website, or anything else similar that would give me a decent shot at picking up on how to do this with a little studying?

Well, I've been using Wall Street Prep and I'll vouch for it. Pretty comprehensive and when your complete you can get certified and put that on your resume if you'd like. You can receive 15% off the purchase price with a referral code. Mine is REF7524 if you need it.

I used the analyst exchange for one class (I had quite a bit of experience already, just wanted to refine a few things). I would recommend it for a beginner.

As far as websites, check out http://www.exinfm.com/free_spreadsheets.html, it has a ton of free models to work through. Also there is a book Building Financial Models by John Tjia. I haven't read it but it is a good reference to teach yourself. Just make sure you look at lots of different models to figure out what you like and what works for you.

thanks for all the input...very much appreciated!

what time frame would you experienced guys put on learning the basics of this?
