Talked to my friend at Moelis and he said people won't hear back until return offers for SA's have been given. Then it'll be a 1-2 week sped up, informal process that's only one round to quickly fill the openings. Also, your application won't get you an interview there for FT, you have to know someone and have them tell the office to interview you

All I know is that SA apps are open and details from my process with them last year. Moelis's process is very tough to get into. You have to know somebody at the office to even be considered and their first round interviews aren't really interviews if you go to a target. They interviewed 10 people at my school and showed up knowing who they were going to move to the next round and tried to convince those kids why Moelis is the best firm. The other kids who they already decided weren't going to move on had a legitimate interview, but no matter how well they did it didn't mean anything

coming from a non-target with a personal connection gives you a better chance than coming from a target school with alumni at the firm. Coming from a target you'd be competing against other kids at your school who have the same connections as everybody else. I was told by my mentor to focus on off-campus processes because there will be way less competition with kids at your same school, and that's how I got my summer offer
