Moelis - Best Groups
It's a generalist program, but I'm assuming you can still express interest in specific industries to the staffer. I'm not particularly interested in any industry so I'm planning on just picking ones that the firm has a decent rep with.
Which groups generally see the most dealflow at Moelis? Know that Sponsors and Restructuring are strong - any others? This is for NY btw

Sponsors is well-known as the strongest, but I think Healthcare is also extremely strong. Not sure if RX is at the level of Laz/PJT/HL but I don't really know, so it would be good to hear from someone else.
I'm in RX; seems like Moelis is on the next rung down, but still very respectable.
question is stupid. perform well with everyone you work with and you will be able to be staffed on the big deals whenever they come.

Any info on Media/Entertainment or Consumer/Retail? Is Media run mostly out of LA?
Moelis (as in Ken Moelis) built a lot of his career on the gaming and lodging industry, and the proof is in the pudding. First major deal after he spun off from UBS was Hilton. They're doing Playboy now (I am jealous of THAT analyst).
But yes, RX is also good as well as sponsors and retail. Really anything though - Moelis gets solid deal flow.
I heard their best groups are Restructuring; Media & Entertainment; Gaming & Lodging; Healthcare
