Work at a 'deteriorating' EB's NYC office, looking at potential options as I think about leaving. I know Moelis LA is really strong - but have been hearing mixed opinions on both the NYC and SF offices. How do the offices compare to each other and other banks in NYC / SF? How are exits?

Imo it doesn’t make much sense trying to compare them. You mention LA, SF, and NYC. Where is it that you want to live? I would figure that out then compare banks in your desired geography
It’s incredibly difficult to lateral to Moelis LA - I’m agnostic to location, I’m just trying to focus on the best office moving forward
Is it difficult to lateral to MOE LA because of how competitive it is or are u saying for a different reason? Obviously has top tier deal flow and exits but given how sweaty it is, is it really still that competitive given turnover?

MOL SF is a solid group, really good culture. However, not nearly as strong as NY/LA. Deal flow is good, but not great. It’s a generalist group with skew towards technology (a lot of semis) mandates.
