Morgan Stanley BANS straight white people from applying for internship programme

  • Morgan Stanley opened a programme that BANS white people from applying.
  • It explicitly states under "skills and qualifications" that you must be Black, Hispanic, Native American or LGBT to be eligible for the programme.
  • No, this is not MS office in India banning non-Indians from applying, or South African office banning white people from applying. This is in the country where the very people who built it are banned from applying for jobs.
  • Imagine for a moment that companies in Japan, would ban Japanese people from applying, or companies in China would ban Han Chinese from applying.
  • What a world we live in

Morgan Stanley insane

I don't support full on diversity internships, but this is just weak bro. It's a freshman internship program; only advantage it gives you is extra networking. Why don't you just network on your own? If you're a likable guy, then no problem. You sound like a whiney bitch. You should go take on the FEEBLE Morgan Stanley. Go up to 1585 Broadway an DRAG James Gorman to the Supreme Court. Get him begging on his fucking knees for forgiveness for rejecting my homeboy's FRESHMAN INSIGHT PROGRAM app. But little does he know, THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS

It does say it gives you networking opportunities, valuable training and a fast track for the summer internship, which I would say seem quite significant.

It's essentially the same as the spring weeks ("spring internship") in Europe and London which are a big advantage when it comes to securing summer internships.

We've gone way too far with this insanity. I understand we are trying to be more altruistic (and help others at our expense), but this is not helping anyone, not even people who it is intended to help.

Another thing we are not even allowed to think let alone discuss is the real reasons for why some groups need these schemes to achieve equal representation in certain fields. Just think for a moment, how is it that Chinese and East Asians outperform whites both academically and professionally if we live in a "white supremacy", "racist" and "patriarchal" society.

It CLEARLY states that it is a diversity program/event. From your post title, I assumed it was for the entire internship program smh.

With your reading/comprehension skills, I wouldn't expect too much from recruiting season.

This program has been around for quite a while right? When I was in college (a decade ago) I knew some people who got into this

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." --Abraham Lincoln

It's a bit more complicated than that. Yes, slaves were involved in cotton/textile productions and helped to build the country. But there were also a ton of (hired laborers) working in factories during the Industrial Revolution that were not slaves. These were the blue collar working class folk of their time.

Both MAGAs and black slaves built the US.

Ok but OP's assertion that white people "built" America (and bringing this up within the context of diversity hiring practices) is absurd. I'm personally a product of 20th century Italian immigration and my ancestors were thousands of miles away when America was founded and being industrialized, but by OP's logic I'm part of the group that built America while a descendant of black slaves is not.

Slavery didn't build the United States (the South was always the poorest part of the country for the entirety of US history) and most wealth generated from slavery was destroyed during the Civil War.

This country was built by Yankee settlers farming wild lands and digging canals wherever they could until we reached the Pacific.

The people always bitching and whining abt the diversity programs are such sissies. It's not like your post is going to change anything about the present circumstances. Put your game face on and go harder or shut the fuck up

Regards,

Straight white male

"and or LGBTQ+" so just say you are one of those if you really wana go. If you gain a job from it you couldn't get from being just a white person then congratulations you have just overcame discrimination and if you still don't get a job then you being white has nothing to do with it you are just not as qualified.

This is VERY far from an internship, it's one hour sessions once a week... it's just teaching diverse freshmen what each division of these banks are with a potential interview at the end.

and if you think MS is the only one with a diversity program you better check the other websites. The fact is diverse candidates are wildly underrepresented in financial services - has the pendulum swung too far in recruiting in the last few years, you could argue that - but for many years the only people getting these roles were straight white men

It's interesting how this shit only applies to the US but Morgan Stanley is happy to continuing hiring relatives of Saudi oligarchs.

Man I love it when global financial institutions commit to fighting oppression by fucking over middle class people in America.

This is racism. No other way about it. Anyone stating otherwise is racist. It’s literally saying you can’t have a job unless you are a specific race. Someone please take this to court for God’s sake

Inb4 all the SJWs storming in and slinging monkey shit and spewing "omg racist, we must have like 2859595 black and hispanics at every bank to be a diverse and functioning democracy!!!"

These programs aren't a hindrance. You just sound like a loser who keeps getting rejections. Work harder, be more interesting, go do something else and pivot. It's not hard.

Let's be very clear here - this is something that has been around for a long time and is NOT what is ruling its general recruiting process. This is a small ongoing program for FRESHMAN, please do not push any disinformation of it. This wouldn't impact anyone's chances or recruiting, just as it hasn't historically.

And for another note - if you ever actually get a role at a larger firm id advise you shut your mouth and keep your opinions to yourself here.

Reality is this won't stop until their buy side partners like Blackrock stop getting tricke up wokeness from THEIR capital sources like university endowments or CALPERS.

Endowments/CALPERS goes woke -> makes megafunds go woke -> makes IB go woke -> makes F500 go woke

So until we got a solution for that, just say you're a nonconforming genderqueer pansexual. I'm not entirely sure what "pansexual" is...you're attracted to bread?

“Imagine for a moment that companies in Japan, would ban Japanese people from applying, or companies in China would ban Han Chinese from applying. ”

Are you implying diversity candidates are not American? I am impressive at your thoughts. Believe me China has its own diversity programs that’s been long running. Go do something about it, or stop whining.

China is doing it because they're a fascist state that needs to keep 1.4 billion people under control. That means making concessions for culturally/biologically ostracized groups such as the subhuman Uyghurs, Mongols, Manchurians and Hui.

Your title is a little misleading. They did not ban white people. They banned ANYONE who is not black, Hispanic or native American. Not saying I agree with it but there's a 100 different ethnicities that are banned from this program and white happens to be one of them

That's even worse. Imagine letting Tyrone from Nebraska U with 52 felonies over some Math Olympiad prodigy named Muhammad Al-Iranquwa from war-torn Syria who fought against the Taliban and ISIS while recieving an high school education so he could get a full ride to Yale because Muhammad's ancestors weren't looked down upon by cowboys in Texas.
