Morgan Stanley's Financial Sponsors Group (FSG)
Hey guys,
Do any of you have any insight to Morgan Stanley's financial sponsors group? (primarily London)
Very interested in learning more about:
Exit opportunities
Work life / team culture
If its conceived as a "good team"
How much model experience would you get if you join this team?
Many thanks in advance!

Kind of an older thread, but may still help a little https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/morgan-stanley-fsg
Thanks a lot, have been browsing through older threads, but none seems to convey personal experience

Hey Guys -
How does MS's sponsor group stack up compared to their other groups (i.e. vs tech, FIG, M&A, etc)? I saw the old threads about general sponsor rankings, obviously some things has changed, any thoughts?
Take this however you will but when I was interviewing with TWP a while back one recent analyst claimed he worked in MS Fin. Sponsors for his summer.
At the risk of looking like an ignorant retard... What is TWP?
Thomas Weisel Partners
Dude just go to top PE websites and you will see associates who used to work in MS Fin Sponsors all over the place. Not as good as M&A, but the placement is great.
any links for the above mentioned idea?

Trust me...good f'in placement.
how does the MS media and telecom group compare to GS TMT? And other groups at MS? From what I know, MS M&A, healthcare, industrials are the best groups.
would be interested in this also
Seeing as you guys seem to know about sponsor coverage teams, how would you rate the old Lehman Sponsor coverage franchise (pre the BarCap takeover). Was it any good?
I get the PE placement thing, but how are they in terms of reputation, what they do, etc.
hmm so if given the choice between FSG and Industrials (and liking the people/culture of both) - what would be the better option?
or media & telecom for that matter...

Does anyone know about MS's Sponsor's M&A group? It's apparently small and just does LBOs all day for the sponsors that MS deals with, but is technically a part of the sponsors team and not the M&A team.
Would that be a better experience than being in sponsor's coverage where you'd be working on IPOs and the like? Details are fuzzy.
And does anyone know how they place?
