Moving to the buyside as an Asset Manager?
Currently working in Securitization at a lower ranked BB. Recently got promoted to VP but the bonus sucked last year and the clients I cover are not doing deals. Recently I been approached for an Asset Manager role at a buyside shop. Effectively I would manage a portfolio of private loans post close and deal with performance tracking, covenant tracking, reporting, etc. Seems like an interesting role and but it seems I won't be part of a deal team originating these assets, almost like a middle office job. Anyone here working in a similar role can provide some insight?
