MS Network
Everyone knows that former GS employees really look after their peers, but does MS have a similarly strong alumni network? The two banks seem to have similar cultures, and I wonder if they share this characteristic.

Goldman Sachs is one big butt-fuck chain. They have sex--many guys at a time, but it's not gay.
Morgan Stanley is a bit more refined. They only allow 2-3 guys to bu-fu eachother at once (read your contract...it's in the fine print).
And there's the difference--MS has small clusterfucks, whilst GS has large ones.
All of this is to say this: the network at MS doesn't go as far as GS. Also, GS is for homos.

MS bankers all go to Mega PE funds and only hire other MS bankers so that the Mega PE funds only really recruit GS and MS bankers. The IBD has loyalty. I don't know about other areas of the firm. I know other areas probably show some loyalty, but not to the extent that MS bankers go to closing off Mega PE funds from other banks, I hear there s&t is very fratty......
any other thoughts about this?
I wouldnt say its is about loyalty, its more that people like to hire people similar to them. So if you are from GS and you see another GS guy, you'll know exactly the kind of training he got and you'll quickly be able to get some references on him.
In PE, the most common banks that I've seen are GS, MS and JP
