Name Brand Internship vs. Relevance

I've been offered an FLDP internship thus far into recruiting season and will likely be getting positions in Asset Management for 2 F500 insurance companies. I've also been trying to hack away for a position at GE capital, but as they recruit in the spring - I'm still uncertain of my chances there as I haven't been able to meet as many of their recruiters. Pretty much these are the types of jobs that help with MBA admissions due to prestige and not being put in the banker pool.

Anyways, I've also been speaking to local boutiques in and around my area in IB/PE/Deal sourcing type ventures for 20 hours a week, unpaid, modeling work. I'm ultimately interested in ER or HF's, and am considering spending another 20hrs per week for the summer taking extra math classes at a local community college: Calculus III, linear algebra, differential equations and financial mathematics I+II 2 classes concurrently per "summer session" so that I would be able to double major in math and ultimately take grad school math classes throughout senior year of college (I'm a sophomore)
-The gpa from the CC classes won't transfer over so I'm pretty much aiming for B-'s which are incredibly easy to pull off. Also they would help a ton in positioning me towards HF's that value quant skills (though I'm still planning to go the IBD route which interests me as well if I can't get into any legitimate HF's - - - see lumina investments)

The FLDP I was accepted into pays something like $26 per hour, 40-45 hours per week ($23 with free housing) and so it would be an okay experience, but completely irrelevant to what I ultimately want to do. However, as a sophomore, having a brand name internship that is considered "selective to very selective" might help.
