I'm applying for a FO insight program at a BB and I know someone in Operations at the firm, should I name drop to say "From what they said your culture seems good..." or avoid it due to different division?

just say you've spoken to a current employee in your cover letter. no need to name drop in there unless it's a big shot. if you want to put them down as a referral for the 'how did you hear about this job' part it doesn't hurt honestly.
