Natural Resources Fund Internship Opps Abroad

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently in my gap year doing three IBD M&A internships (2x T1 EBs and BB) in continental Europe, right before embarking on my postgraduate studies at LSE next year. While I have preponderantly worked on deals in industrials, ADG and chemicals, I am super intrigued about natural resources (metals & mining). Given the hassle of obtaining a U.S. visa for that endeavor and people having reservations for whatever reason, I'm focusing on Australia right now. However, those funds I have found don't publicly state the possibility to intern there. Granted, internship culture might be a factor, but I can hardly believe it's a non-starter from the beginning.

I'm curious if anyone has some tips he'd like to share with me with regard to funds in this sector, different countries, and what approach I should pursue (cold-emailing, linkedin msg?)
