Need advice! Any and all!

Okay so here's my situation. I am a bit of a late bloomer so to speak. Just graduated from a non-target MBA and looking to start my career in finance. Applied to an unpaid internship (DCM analyst) at a start up brokerage firm and got called in for an interview. Had first interview that I felt went pretty well. During that time the MD told me that the position would start on a certain date and that they would contact me (what they all say). The following week I sent a follow-up email thanking him for his time yada yada and asking about the status of the position. He informs me that they are still in the recruitment process. Fast forward a few days before the position is due to start a send another email reiterating my skills and how I would be a great addition to the team. The MD then sends me an email asking me to meet with him again at his office. I agree and we then had another interview.

During this interview he tells me that he really wants to make sure that I know what the role entails and that the people that they bring onboard will stick around. I reassure him that I am aware of what is involved and that I want to grow with the company. I also let him know that I am aware of how important it is to find someone who fits with the existing group and that I am a team player who is a joy to work with. The interview lasts for about 15 minutes and then he says that he wants me to meet with his partner (other MD and founder) this coming week.

Now this is the part I need advice on. Should I send him another email just so he can remember to set up that interview with his partner OR just wait it out a few more days? The interview was last week friday and he said the 3rd interview would be this week. Also is this a sign that I have the job and he is just getting the okay from someone else OR do you think he's just not sure? Also i'm not sure if this is still the unpaid internship or if this a permanent position. He has hired someone for the position that I first interviewed for but not sure how many positions are available. Please tell me what you think are my chances of getting this job. I really want it....

It sounds like a good thing. Typically if they are not gonna hire you or at least are REALLY considering you, they would not waste their time having you come in frequently. And considering you were willing to take the unpaid internship, I would not bother asking what the position is for at this point. Shoot him an email explaining it was a joy to meet him again, you can really see yourself working there, and you are looking forward to meeting his partner. He should get the point, keep it BRIEF though.
