Need advice on Internship opportunities after transferring to target for IB.

Hello everyone. I've been reading over threads about people in situations similar to mine but they're from previous years that may not have suffered from investment banking recruitment being pushed up. I'm currently a freshman in the honors program for my community college and just finished up my first semester. I aim to break into investment banking by attending a target school after i finish my associates, so that'd mean transferring for fall of 2020. I've heard that F500 banks are now recruiting students much earlier, and I've talked with a NYU stern student who told me that my chances of getting an internship would be very slim if I transfer as a junior because of positions taken by Sternies. So basically I'm asking for advice on what I should do in order to break into investment banking. I know that my chances will be a lot lower since I'm transferring in from a community college and will miss out on sophomore recruitment. I plan on getting an internship where i am right now (Miami), should i go for any position i see or should i go for IB or PWM and such? Does anyone think i still have a shot at securing a position at an internship in NYC if i do transfer to Stern or NYU Econ? Or at any firm in a city of a target school for that matter? Is cold calling/emailing still a thing? Sorry if this isn't clear enough lol.

TL;DR: Community college student who plans to transfer to a target school for IB but will miss out on sophomore recruitment. Do i have a shot securing an internship after transferring as a Junior (start fall 2020)? Do i have a shot at IB or any other high paying finance related job?
