Need some urgent advice regarding SA

Basically, this is my current summer analyst situation (junior at non-target)

  • I live about 90 minutes outside of NY
  • I currently have the option (verbally agreed) to intern at a random boutique in NY part-time, commuting from where I live a few days a week. This is unpaid and I haven't started yet.
  • A decent MM bank (also located in NY) just e-mailed me asking for an in-person interview. I would MUCH prefer this to the current position I've secured.

But my concern is, I don't know whether or not the MM one is paid or not and also because I don't have housing in ny. How do I bring this up to the recruiter? Should I just be blunt and ask, before scheduling the interview, whether or not it's paid?

@syntheticshit yeah I guess I'll just ask up-front

@WINNING I think I was really conservative in my commute estimate, it's closer to 2 hours one way. Think philly to ny.

Go to the interview and see what the full story is. Priority #1 is to land an offer. Then figure out which is best for you.

Congrats, and good luck!
