Networking Emails PMO for No Reason
Just hit the desk (AN1). Networked like hell myself to get this seat. But I SWEAR TO GOD, if I get a 56th basic ass networking email notification pop up in the corner of my screen while I’m trying to turn comments on a deadline while fumbling on my keyboard and half asleep, I am going to break. Don’t even get me started on the kids I have no connection to whatsoever who email me anyway.
I fully empathize with these kids — but god damn, I apologize to all the people I bothered like this a few years ago. Holy shit it’s so annoying

this is why you email senior assoc/VP/Ds only. had way better hit rates and convos with them even with zero prior connections.

AI is killing everybody's inboxes. It's effectively necessary to filter all .edu emails, which means nobody will get networking traction other than those will pre-existing connections.
If this career still exists in a couple years I expect every bank to shift to the model of prohibiting candidates from sending networking emails directly , replacing with formal resume drop -> scheduled chat(s) -> interviews
