Newbie asking a few really newbie questions...

Guys,

love the site - Long time lurker, first time poster! I have some really simple valuation questions that I'd love to get your help on (I tired the search function but it's not generating what I need):

1) Enterprise Value. I understand that it is market cap + debt + pref. equity + minority interest - CASH. However, my question is, do we include all liabilities (such as payables, and all other current liabilities) into debt or is it strictly ST-Debt and LT-Debt? The balance sheet that I'm currently looking at does not have ST-DEbt, but it does have current liabilities. Just wondering whether to include it into the calc.

2) For the purposes of modeling, and banging out numbers for sensitivity analysis, how do we determine growth rates when you do not have previous rates to which we can refer? Should we look for industry rates and/or comparable firms with previous earnings? Any sources/sites that I can/should look at?
(note: none of this info is disclosed or even mentioned anywhere!)

Still at work, unfortunately, but love following the threads!
