Next Job for People Who Can’t Handle the Stress/Hours of IB?

Hey everyone, 2nd year analyst at a MM, lateraled in from a LMM boutique who realizes I just can’t handle the stress/hours/attention to detail required in IB. I constantly check things, set up formulas to check work in excel, but it seems I spend all that time checking smaller stuff that in the end doesn’t matter. Like I’ll catch a few mistakes and then send for review and the Associate/VP will find basic things wrong quickly. Obviously, this doesn’t help my stress levels and it takes me a lot longer to get stuff out because I just keep checking and re-checking stuff that has been wrong in the past. Also when turning comments, I just completely flip from page to page without finishing a page.

I know it isn’t just my firm/group that’s the problem. I thought that when I was at my previous firm and that switching would fix things but hasn’t. I realize some of the problem is that I just can’t handle the stress/hours/detail orientation required for IB. Also, think I got into IB for the wrong reasons, just wanted the money/prestige/IB lifestyle didn’t really care about the work.

Growing up, I always thought about being a military officer/in the CIA. Just wanted to reach out to you all to see if you guys have heard about anyone making a complete u turn out of IB and how they were able to do so.
