Unless your connection is the CEO or global head of IB, it's very difficult to land those FT spots without prior IB experience. 95% of their FT spots go to interns and the other 5% are usually people from smaller banks looking to upgrade. Someone else, even an MD in the bank, won't be able to push you through that process without the right resume/experience

I would figure out something for this summer even if it's not a related job. Try your hand at FT recruiting but you definitely need to be networking and also considering what your next choices will be

Personally, I had two F500 internships. Accepted full time, worked for a few months and started a MSF program (Known program but not top tier). Accepted FT for MM IB, but I grinded my ass off to get it,
. It’s not guaranteed at all especially in this job market

Similar problem for me. I landed a junior year internship but it was rescinded a couple weeks back, now I don't know what to do. Kinda feel lost. I've had three past internships at big-name companies/banks. I'm a rising senior with a 3.88 GPA.
