no one follows up with phone interview, what to do???

Hi, I want to ask a question for my friend. He got an email from CS saying there's gonna be a phone interview but they haven't followed up for 10 days. He sent an email to the recruiter and they asked him to be patient and someone would contact him. Is this sth that normally happens? Is it possible for him to not get the phone interview? What to do? Thank you so much!

someone on here said they waited 1 month to 6 months on application progress. continue to pursue whenever he thinks its appropriate but dont annoy them.

cs is an upper 10 firm so they are more likely to follow up on all the apps when they are supposed to. its not like its a small boutique which has higher probability on them not following up for months.

"be patient and someone would contact him" follow this advice

On that note, if they really wanted him they would probably contact him right away. For the top candidates the process moves quickly. This might not be the case for CS but in general I've found that it is.
