No return after BB summer, consulting?

Hi all, I interned at a top BB bank this summer (GS/MS/JPM) in a strong coverage group but did not receive a return offer. My group had return rate slightly below 60%.

In a way, I'm happy that I did not get the offer. I feel strongly that banking is not a good fit for me and my current situation pushes me to explore other options (though might be hard to explain why I didn't get an offer in interviews).

Question is: How much would GPA matter for FT recruiting if I have had a top BB internship (but no return offer*)? My GPA is below 3.7 (engineering at H/Y/P) and I have the impression that it doesn't meet the line for places like Mck. I'm not in the first quintile at my school so very worried if my resume would pass the initial screening. How much of a role does networking play in consulting recruit?

Any insights or advice is appreciated. Thanks!
