Nomura GT vs. WF TMT vs. US Advisors vs. FT Partners (all SF)?

I would like some advice on which route to pursue for SA 2024. Generally interested in the technology space and trying to set myself up for a career within the Bay Area or maybe in NY. Any advice or insight would be very much appreciated (culture, WLB, exit opps, TC, etc.). Thanks!

FT Partners pays better and has better exit opps. On the other hand, you are worked extremely long hours even for IBD. I think picking Nomura or FTP both make sense based on how high your pain tolerance is. I just wouldn't pick Wells since they give a platform offer and no group is guaranteed.

Lol okay FTP prospect hardo #1.

In all seriousness, I’ve heard that WF has a solid culture, assuming it’s better than Nomura and almost guaranteeing WF qnd Nomura both have cultures that are miles ahead of FTP. Don’t listen to the swarm of FTP hardos on WSO.

Please dont listen to this guy OP…FT Partners get shit on but it is infinitely better than a place like WF TMT. If you are concerned about the culture go with USA. Rule out Greentech as you are interested in tech.

Dont listen to the swarm of FT Partners haters. Yes they have become a meme due to their brutal culture, but it still probably gets the most amount of deals done out of all the places you landed.

Talked to a few guys at US Advisors. Sounds like a solid shop but the scale is quite limited.

I saw one guy exited to PlayStation Crop. Dev. after 2-3 years. Dunno if that sounds sweet to you, but I'd love to do that.

From my understanding, the size of the team and the deals are not very comparable to the other shops you mentioned.

And I heard the intern class is quite small, if that matters.

Unlike nyc wells TMT, the SF Wells TMT is actually hot trash. I have never seen them on anything at all. I am not even sure how are they alive. Of the choices, I would choose Nomura GT or FTP depending on which area you like to work in.

Dude Wells TMT, especially if it's the NY team by a mile. Wells is better than the listed in terms of culture, brand name, etc.

Also growing like crazy
