Not getting first rounds
I have been networking with people at different banks and have had people at those banks give me a referral to HR. Unfortunately, I haven't received any interviews yet. People in the investment banking industry say my resume is strong (have a 3.9 GPA and relevant internship in PE and investment banking). With everything above being said, I am an international, most people that referred me are at analysts and associate levels, and I only have one referrals at each banks as I thought it is better I widen the net by focusing on other banks once I gained confirmation someone would push my resume. Could anyone please let me know why I may not be getting interviews? My connections at the banks made it sound like I should get interviews. I know non targets are getting recruited at the end, but I am just so frustrated that I have not gotten anything up till now.
Follow up with those people and ask them, at the same time keep networking to widen your network
Thanks for the advice. I actually followed up with all of my contacts. They said whilst they insured my resume is in the mix, an interview is no guarantee as I have to get pass the resume screening part
Ask them an honest feedback on your CV and what you can do to improve your profile
Keep at it man, I'm also international and got discouraged after a period of nothingness kind of like what you are describing. Just keep following up, and as the above poster said, reach out to widen your network, you just might catch a break.

I can totally feel you man. It is just so frustrating to pass each day with no emails to notify you of first rounds despite knowing that you have what it takes. I am not sure if I can keep on going if this keeps up.
