How do you classify or view this company?
It is not traditional "asset" management company i.e. Janus, Fidelity etc, it seems more like a private equity, but I am not certain. Can anyone comment on their business strategy, and what are companies similar to this company? Blackstone (maybe).
Is this similar to a Canadian income trust type company?
Do they actively raise capital similar to a private equity, or use current share holder wealth like a traditional public company.

I don't know them, but my buddy "Google" did so I asked him. He said that "Brookfield Asset Management Inc. is a global asset manager focused on property, renewable power and infrastructure assets with over $100 billion of assets under management."

But like my question says what is their business model, is it a Private equity structure or is it like a Canadian Income trust, structured for tax purposes, and how do they raise capital?
This term “asset management” has very different meaning when it comes to physical assets and the operating model.
