NY banks for Australians

Currently an analyst in Aus and considering a move to the US from Aus in the next couple of years (would be mid ASO level). I would ultimately like to move back to Aus but an overseas stint for a few years would be fun.

Would anyone have any suggestions of the best banks that balance career development with WLB? I would like to stay in IB coming back so would value good deal flow etc. but would also likely avoid complete sweatshops (such as GS, Moelis based on this forum) so I have a bit more time to enjoy the US / NY experience.

Sometimes you don't get everything good and high quality right away. In NY, you have to work hard to get the job you want.
