NYC Property and Rent
Here is an example of a 2/1 apartment http://www.corcoran.com/property/listing.aspx?Reg…. Let's assume you are in the business a while, and have saved some money. What could you get in rent for the 2nd bedroom? Is it a good idea to buy a piece of Manhattan property and rent out the other room until you grow rich enough so you don't need to anymore? Thanks for the input.
EDIT: Looks like the price-to-rent ratio makes a strong case for buying in NY: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2010/04/20/business/20100420-rent-ra…
Table's a little misleading. Interesting though.
