NYC training for regional office analysts...

I will be working at a BB in one of their regional offices but have to attend the training in NYC, so I am wondering what type of housing is provided by the firm? Do they typically put you up in a hotel or in corporate housing? And do you usually have a roommate or do you get your own place?

And since I'll be away from my regional office, I'm assuming I will get some sort of meal allowance for dinner, correct?

If you work/worked in a regional office and had to go to NYC training, please let me know your experience with this!

Thanks

  1. Depends on the bank. Some do hotel, some do corporate style apartments
  2. Own place. I think this was the case for all the banks, but could be wrong
  3. Policy for meals is the same for both NYC and regional analysts. Won't get meal allowance unless your training goes past a certain time. Policy varies from bank to bank though. Sometimes regional analysts will get stipend to cover your rent at home if your lease is going while you're in training, or might get some ttype of general per diem

When does HR typically send out this information? I'd like to know in advanced whether I'm going to have my own place or not because I am trying to make plans with friends for them to visit me in NY.
