Offer advice - Offer from a financial strategy group

I recently received an offer for a financial strategy group within a boutique investment bank in New York City. Does anyone have an insight as what to expect regarding such a group. I want to be well prepared when I arrive for the internship. I was also asked what I wanted to be paid, they told me the position paid hourly. I don't know what to ask for since I am not from NYC and am not familiar with the cost of living. Any input would be appreciated.
