Offer Decision Thread - Boutique/MM Firms
Hey guys, so I am contemplating several options for FT recruiting: Houlihan Lokey Corp. Finance (M&A), Stifel, Peter J. Solomon, Stephens, and Raymond James, all for M&A. Have my own internal ranking but wanted to see what people's general thoughts were. Please rank the firms and share any thoughts, thanks!
hl/peter j solomon stifel/raymond james stephens
HL is the best out of those.
HL
^can you guys give an explanation for why HL? what are exit opps like from HL corporate finance? assuming mostly middle market PE funds, but what caliber?
I doubt the exits from HL corp fin are too great, their restructuring arm is stronger. So I'd say low-mid caliber with a couple exceptions. Still, HL will have better exits than the other firms listed.
Everyone is going to say HL, but I'd go where you like the people the best and where you'd enjoy your time.
HL because I am biased. My ex-boss worked there and he is awesome and making millions now.
thanks for the feedback guys. anyone else? particularly interested to hear ppl's opinions on exit ops from HL corp fin, either from what they've heard or personal experience
Exit Opps are what you would think. MM PE, Corp Dev, Mezz/Debt funds.
just look on linkedin for previous analyst that were in corp fin at hl
HL > Peter J. Solomon > Stifel > Stephens > Raymond James
