Offer from Bridgewater

Hi,

Someone I know from college did his MBA at Columbia, and just today got an offer from Bridgewater Associates as a trading associate. He was rejected by DE Shaw and RenTech, though. He hasn't gotten his offer yet, but he promised to let me know the details ASAP. What are your guesses as to total comp for that position?

I'll go ahead with my guess: 130 base + 220 bonus = 350 all-in

I will post the numbers when I get them.

Cheers,

B.

He worked as a credit derivatives trader at Lehman for 2,5 years. Promoted to Associate after 2 years, always got highest bonus bracket. He was market-making, not prop trading. Attended a non- or semi-target school in Europe. Excellent interviewer (that's his self-assessment though).

Class of 2006 200K base 200K min. bonus not sure on signing Oh, also got a fruit basket- not kidding.

Ok, I got the numbers ten minutes ago:

For a guy in the 1st year out of B-School:

base = 195k

bonus = guaranteed minimum of 190k; average bonus projected to be around 270k

signing bonus = 15k

no mention of relocation bonus.

That's it. And that is a hell of a lot more than one can make as a trader at a BB (at least from what I have read and heard).
