Oil&Gas? Energy?
Help me, oil & gas monkeys! I’m working as an economist at an E&P company in Asia. I mainly do economic evaluations for A&D deals and am also involved in deal execution. Recently, I met an oil & gas investment banker (from the London office) and was shocked because he seemed to know the names of every basin and block around the world (including Asia). I heard that the Oil & Gas team has been consolidated with Energy Transition or Power, and this new energy & power investment banker covers everything from oil and gas to power. So my question is: is it even possible to cover such a broad industry? I feel that if I had to cover the whole sector, it would be impossible to know all the basins and block names.
