One Thing for People Out of Seats

Was briefly unemployed early in the career so I know the feeling of unease

I was told yesterday our powers that be (given we are in August) that we are done with buyouts for the year, and any hires need to come without guarantees. That effectively rules out people in seats.  We won’t be the only ones thinking that way; even in a difficult market, there will be firms looking for headcount, and generally August to January is the best time for people who are not in a seat to find one. So I’d encourage people who are in that position (and I see a few posts) to use this window.
