Options for International student athlete

Hi,

I’m an international student from Europe looking to go D1 in track and field. In my event and age group I’m ranked in the top 15 in the world, so I would be getting some scholarships. I would want to study finance and maybe land a job in IB. What do you think would be my best choice for a school. Should I go for a school with a larger sports program, such as SEC schools? Or should I target other schools? And does being a D1 athlete play any role in a possible career in high finance?
