If your in thier large cap LevFin group( dont know if they ahve a middle market group) good luck...................... most big banks are scaling back thier LevFin groups. Large Leveraged back deals arent getting done at the pace they were a few years back and most of these banks are sitting on hundreds of millions of dollars of "hung" paper(i.e. debt that they were able to sell to other insitutions). They only thing you have going for you is the fact that you are relatively cheap, which means that they may keep you around and let go of VP instead. If you loose your job, try looking for something in the middle market, those deals are still getting done.

The analysts and associates being cheaper than a VP or MD argument so far seems to be more of a thing that analysts and associates tell themselves to try to convince themselves that they're fine.
