Passion and Chances

just a little rant of mine.. i dont care if you agree or not, so tough

it really annoys me when people claim "help me fulfill my dreams and my passion." anyone who claims banking is truly their "passion" is full of BS. no one loves working 120 hours a weeks crunching numbers and making pitchbooks as an analyst. people love money, and banking just happens to provide a means for that. when someone says "help me fulfill my passion," theyre really just saying "i want to make a shit ton of money. im not doing that now, but i should be." deep down, everyone knows why youre really in banking, and you dont have to hide it on an anonymous message board. in an interview, sure; say its your passion to get the job, but honestly your lying to yourself if you thinking its actually your passion, cause you can do similar works for a lot less money/hours and not claim it to be your passion.

while im ranting, i dont really like it when people ask "what are my chances at GS or Moelis?" it doesnt freakin matter what we say. your chances are zero if you dont f***ing apply. so just apply, and if you get rejected obviously your chances werent great. if you get the job, they were. dont waste my time on this board because youre insecure about your stats and job prospects.

sorry if i offended anyone, but just wanted to get that out there.

im ready to get a lot of shit for this post, so let it begin
