Path from Boutique bank

I’m an incoming analyst at a small boutique bank and will be doing M&A on their Healthcare IT team. The bank is located on the west coast, so I was thinking about lateraling to a more reputable shop in LA or SF after a year.

I was curious about what to realistically expect in my lateral hopes. What would be the most realistic to achieve, BB, MM or EB? Will looking in LA and SF increase my chances of landing a reputable shop?

Appreciate all honesty too, want to hear it straight so I know what to expect, positive and negative about my hopes.
