PC Vanilla DL to Distressed / Rx IB

Hello, ignore title but I'm an incoming analyst at a MM PC firm that does pretty vanilla DL work. I realized somewhat late during recruitment that I have a pretty strong interest in distressed. I wasn't able to land anything FT for levfin or rx IB, so was wondering how I should proceed after I start working FT. Would reaching back out to rx and levfin seats in IB be doable or would that be a stretch. Also, is a move to those seats possible after one year? Any insights would be really appreciated.
